With regards to the title of this blog post:

If you listen to Episode Episode 56, we would have to say Huxley was more accurate. The cartoon below is only a portion of a cartoon that was unpublished by artist Stuart McMillen, but very surgical in its summation according to the Wikipedia entry for the book that inspired the black and white hand drawn illustrations. McMillien is referencing a book called, Amusing Ourselves to Death: Public Discourse in the Age of Show Business by Jim Postman.

Wikipedia’s summation of the Postman book really resonates with what Agenda31 has been pointing out.

Postman distinguishes the Orwellian vision of the future, in which totalitarian governments seize individual rights, from that offered by Aldous Huxley in Brave New World, where people medicate themselves into bliss, thereby voluntarily sacrificing their rights.
